Phil Amalong’s diverse career in music and business includes being a critically acclaimed pianist, recording artist, composer, producer, tech entrepreneur, marketing executive, and marketing and media consultant.
He is cofounder of The ZOEN, a live online music lesson platform and was on the core team at Zenph Sound Innovations, both now part of Steinway & Sons.
As a composer and producer, he has created hundreds of works for television, film and commercials. National jingles and underscores include campaigns for McDonald’s, GE, P&G (Pantene, Aleve), Blockbuster Video (“Wow, what a difference”), Walmart, Totes, Easy Spirit, Kenner and Hasbro Toys, and hundreds of others.
His songs and scores have been featured in all the U.S. daytime dramas (soap operas), including Guiding Light, All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless and many others.
His music has also been heard as background to the Academy Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, on a variety of HGTV shows, Discovery Health Channel, Access Hollywood, and Netflix productions. Under the moniker Toccare, he is currently composing and producing music for a variety of new media.
Amalong’s performances as a pianist have taken him around the world as both a soloist and collaborator. He is a Distinguished Laureate of the IBLA Grand Prize International Piano Competition in Sicily, and was a founding member of the chamber ensemble Conundrum. A prolific recording artist, his critically-acclaimed recording Touch: The Toccata Project released on Albany Records has succeeded in captivating reviewers and listeners worldwide.
His studio experience includes producing and working with a diverse group of GRAMMY® winning artists: Frederic Chiu, Zuill Bailey, Isabel Bayrakdarian, Nam June Paik, The Deele, Blessid Union of Souls, Roger Miller, and Glen Ballard. He collaborated with childhood friend, renowned composer Jack Wall, on Jack’s original demo for Call of Duty: Black Ops II which subsequently has become one of the largest entertainment franchises in history. Amalong’s music is distributed through numerous production catalogues, including FirstCom and BRg Music Works (acquired by Premiere Networks/Clear Channel Media).
Amalong has led community and marketing initiatives at Online Music Network Inc, ReverbNation, and is in demand as a marketing and music consultant across a variety of verticals. He is Vice President of Marketing for the world-renowned software, Freedom.
